Keeping your payment methods current ensures your campaigns run without interruption. Since campaign budgets are billed upfront, having a valid payment method on file is essential to ensure that funds are available for bidding the moment your campaign begins.
Why payment methods matter
Your payment method determines how budgets are collected and applied across campaigns. If a card expires or a payment attempt fails, campaigns may pause until the issue is resolved. Storing multiple payment methods can be helpful if you:
Manage several brands or clients and want to keep their billing separate.
Prefer to assign specific payment methods to different campaign types.
Need a backup option in case one method fails.
For more detail on when budgets are billed, see Campaign Billing.
Add or update a payment method in account settings
To manage the payment methods stored on your account:
From this page, you can also:
View all stored payment methods.
Remove outdated cards.
Set a default method that will automatically be used for new campaigns unless you select otherwise.
Choose a payment method when creating a campaign
When you build a campaign, you’ll be prompted to select a payment method during setup. This ensures the budget is funded upfront, allowing your campaign to start bidding without delay.
Tips:
If you manage multiple campaigns, review which payment method is applied before launching.
You can always return to account settings to add a new option if the one you need isn’t listed.
Change a payment method on an existing campaign
If you need to adjust the payment method for a live campaign:
Open the campaign.
Click the Actions dropdown in the top right.
Select Billing.
Choose the method you’d like to apply.
This is useful if a card has expired, a payment failed, or you simply want to switch an active campaign to a different payment method without interrupting delivery.
Common scenarios to keep in mind
Expired or failed payments: If a payment attempt fails, campaigns may pause until a valid payment method is applied.
Multiple payment methods: You can store more than one method in your account, and apply them across different campaigns as needed.
Billing timing: Payments are collected upfront for each campaign budget. To learn more, see Campaign Billing.
