Geofenced Audience

Geofencing enables you to deliver targeted ads to audiences who have visited specific locations by creating precise target zones around those areas.

Creating a Geofenced Audience

Step 1: Navigate to the Audience Tab
To get started, go to the Audience tab in the navigation bar on the left side of the screen.

Step 2: Create a New Audience
Click the + Audience button in the top right corner of the screen.

Select Geofencing as the audience type. Add a name and description (if applicable), then click Create.

Note: If you have used the Agility Platform before, you may already have geofences stored in "location groups". To reuse these locations, select the "Migrate Location Groups" option on the right-hand side to migrate those locations into this audience segment.

Drawing Your Geofences

Step 4: Search for Your Target Location
To begin drawing your geofence, use the search bar at the top of the map. You can search for an exact location (e.g., a specific gym) or a general type of location (e.g., gyms). Search results will appear in the bottom right corner of the map. If you search broadly, multiple locations will be listed for you to choose from.

Once you locate your target, you can choose one of the following options:

  1. Auto Draw Option:

    • Hover over the desired location. The system will automatically highlight the area.

    • Click on the location, and the geofence will be auto-drawn around it.

    • You will then be prompted to name the new target zone.

  2. Manual Draw Option:

    • Select the manual draw tool at the top of the map.

    • Place vertices (points) around your target location to create a custom boundary.

    • Ensure the final vertex connects back to the first one to complete the fence.

    • After completing the fence, you will be prompted to name the new target zone.

Note: The manual draw tool works by placing points rather than clicking and dragging.

Step 5: Naming and Saving Your Geofence
After drawing your geofence using either method, enter a location name and click Save.

Editing and Managing Your Geofences

To make changes to your target zone on the map, click the blue boundary. You can adjust the vertices, rename the zone, or delete it as needed. On the right-hand side of the map, you will see a complete list of your saved target zones.

Note: Target Zones can only collect devices in the United States and cannot exceed one square mile.

Setting Your Audience's Collection Timeframe

Step 6: Select a Collection Timeframe
Choose between a rolling lookback or date range collection timeframe:

  • Rolling Lookback: This targets device IDs that have visited within a specified lookback window, which can extend up to 12 months. The lookback period automatically updates, ensuring the data remains current.

  • Date Range: This targets device IDs that have visited within a specific start and end date range. Unlike the rolling lookback, this date range remains fixed and does not update over time.

Note: We have a 48-hour scrubbing process and cannot serve ads in real time. When using a date range, you cannot select future dates since the devices have not yet been collected for those dates.

Activating Your Audience

Step 8: Activate the Audience
Before the audience can be used in an ad group, you must click the Activate Audience button in the top right corner of the screen.
